tribtown > Abby Jungclaus, 17, and her mother, Sunny Jungclaus, spent Tuesday afternoon cleaning up in the aftermath of a storm that knocked down several trees at their home at 863 E. Pine St. at the Lake & Forest Club east of Brownstown.

tribtown > Seymour firefighters were called to this apartment in the 600 block East Oak Street at 1:58 p.m. Thursday to put out a fire in a kitchen. Fire Chief Fred Hines said his firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and the attic above at the apartment, located in the Canterbury Apartments. Hines said invesigators believe the fire was likely caused by a burner on the stove being left. A woman and the two and a half year old child of her sister were in the apartment at the time, but were able to escape, Hines reported. The apartment complex is owned by John Brooks.

tribtown > Seymour police were called to the scene of a possible personal injury wreck involving a sport utility vehicle and a flat bed semitrailer at Fourth Street and Broadway at 1:16 p.m. Tuesday. No other details were available at press time.

tribtown > Bob Luenebrink is spearheading efforts to identify family members of three veterans buried along Soldiers' Row at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. The goal is to place government grave markers for those three veterans.
