The soldiers are members of the 2-152 Reconnaissance and Surveillane Calvary Squadron (airborne) of the Indiana National Guard's newly activated 219th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. Members of the squadron will continue practice jumps at Freeman Field in an anticipation of deployment in in 2011. Members of the unit made 48 jumps during the exercise.
tribtown > Staff Sgt. James Mitchell of Bloomington and Staff Sgt. Kade Brescher of Brownstown spent part of their day Wednesday serving as pathfinders for parachutists practicing jumps from Blackhawk helicopters at Freeman Field in Seymour. Pathfinders helped the jump master determine when soldiers may jump from the helicopter and when weather conditions are optimal.
The exercise was planned for some of the full-time members of the 2-152 Reconnaisance and Surveillance Calvary Squadron (Airborne). The unit is a component of the Indiana National Guard's newly activated 219th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade.

The exercise was part of an Indiana National Guard ceremony activating the unit along with other components of the 219th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade.
