tribtown > Miss America 2009 Katie Stam of Seymour was guest speaker at the Indiana Association of Student Council District 9 leadership conference held at Brownstown for the first time this year. The conference gathered students from Franklin and Center Grove high schools. Other schools could not attend due to weather conditions and school closings.

Kelly Turner is the president of the Heads Up Foundation, an organization formed to benefit children with craniofacial anomalies. Proceeds from the festival, which continues Saturday and Sunday go the foundation.
