From left, Brittany Sweeney and KaLisha Sandlin, both certified podiatric medical assistants with Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Center, 1239 E Fourth Street Road, Seymour, recently attended the annual Indiana Podiatric Medical Association meeting in Indianapolis. During the Oct 10 and 11 meeting, Sweeney and Sandlin passed the national certifying examination for podiatric medical assistants and the state radiology examination, which gives them a limited license to perform foot and ankle X-rays. The examinations consist of anatomy, biomechanics, terminology, clinical testing, procedures, surgical assisting, instrumentation, radiology, medical emergencies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Sweeney and Sandlin have been employed with Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Center for two months.
